In this training video, Dr. Nitin Chhoda answers the question “How long do we have to wait before our 2nd stimulus check?” and also addresses the recent actions of the United States Senate, including their decision to go on a vacation in the middle of this crisis!
The Senate spent the past 3 weeks in session and could not come to an agreement with the House on the next round of stimulus. The members of the US Senate took a vacation and left Washington for the Memorial Day recess. They left without tackling the next round of stimulus checks. They also have another 2-week vacation scheduled in July.
POLITICAL GRIDLOCK BETWEEN DEMOCRATIC HOUSE AND REPUBLICAN SENATE
The Democratic-led House passed a $3 trillion relief package on May 15.
The leader of the Republican-led Senate, Mr. McConnell, on the other hand, has said he’s in no hurry for the Senate to offer its own proposal. The Senate is wants to see how the economy responds to previous relief measures. The Senate may get around to putting together a plan when it reconvenes next month. Or perhaps it will in July. They are taking a wait-and-see approach while American businesses and American families continue to suffer the effects of this crisis.
In the words of the New York Times, “this course of inaction is unsustainable”.
JEROME POWELL – WILL HE BE THE MAN THAT SAVES AMERICA?
Jerome Powell, the Federal Reserve chair, could be the saving grace in all this, and Dr. Chhoda will cover this in more detail in the next training video.
SUMMARY
Hopefully, the Democrats and Republicans can see eye-to-eye, since there are real people suffering significant hardship out there. This political gridlock, combined with opposing ideologies is hurting people, and this is a call to both sides to get back to work and come to an agreement for the sake of the American people. This isn’t about red or blue, it’s about the red, white and blue. It’s time to put our differences aside and come to a consensus because this is about lives, and livelihood.
