Vice President Joe Biden has picked Senator Kamala Harris as his running mate. Harris is the second African American woman and the first Indian American to serve in the United States Senate.
The Biden campaign declined to comment when asked if VP Biden supports Senator Harris plan with Bernie Sanders & Ed Markey to provide $2,000 every month to millions of Americans during the pandemic (and 3 months after).
We are going to create a level of certainty for employers that want to participate. We can’t force people to participate. But I think many small businesses will do this and pass on the benefits. The President would like to do a payroll tax cut. He will go back to Congress when he wins the election and ask Congress to have this money forgiven and have the Social Security trust fund fully topped up so that in no way does this impact Social Security.
The President has said today or yesterday when it was reported today that he wasn’t putting any money in the Postal Service. He says he’s not putting up any money for absentee voting and he’s not putting up any money for the postal service, undermining the health of our democracy. The money for the elections (that is in the bill) is not just about absentee ballots.

It’s no wonder we have a vast difference, because this administration and the Republicans in Congress have never understood the gravity of the situation. I’m deeply religious person, I believe in miracles and I believe the miracle of science will help us through this. Magically it would go away. It was a hoax. No they are the hoax.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, has not joined in the talks but set down a marker last month when the Senate GOP released its pandemic aid bill.
Yesterday, he told Fox News that “the American people are sick of the stalemate” after another day passed with no formal discussions between Democrats and the Trump administration.

“As it stands now, we’ve already failed,” Rep. Ben McAdams, a freshman Democrat from Utah, told CNN this week. “I am frustrated we don’t have an agreement we can vote on already.”
President Trump’s senior aides acknowledged yesterday that they are providing less financial assistance for the unemployed than the President has stated last weekend.
Last Saturday, Trump approved an executive action to provide an additional $400 per week in expanded unemployment benefits for Americans who have lost their jobs during the pandemic.

So you don’t just split the difference. What you do is you go line by line. You say, let’s agree where we can agree. And you’re right. On things where we agree but we’re apart on money we split the difference. Things like food. I listen to the speaker over the weekend. She’s right. We started low on food. We realize there’s a lot of kids out there that there’s an issue. So we agreed on more than enough money for this year and through most of next year on food.
The 25% isn’t really coming from the states because we’re authorizing them to use money out of the $150 billion we just sent them. So in essence, all 100% is coming from the federal government. I have from every single state, how much money they have left over. They have plenty of money. And the answer is, in new legislation, we’ll top that up so it won’t it won’t cost them a dime. So to the extent they use money out of those facilities now, when we pass legislation, we’ll make sure they get that money back. And on top of all of that, if there are some states that really have problems, then the President has the ability to waive the 25% entirely. So what we need to do is we need to get legislation passed that helps the American public get back to work.
