House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is calling the House back into session this Saturday to take up legislation designed to reverse changes made by new Postmaster General Louis DeJoy.
Pelosi said she will call back the House from recess to take up the “Delivering for America Act,” which would restore Postal Service operations to where they were on Jan. 1.

Because of the gridlock, Mr. Trump took executive action to give Americans more unemployment relief and suspend the collection of payroll taxes. Corry Bliss, who is advising several Republicans on campaigns, called it a “smart move” because it gives GOP candidates something clear to point to and allows them to blame Democrats for not coming to the table.

Anticipating an avalanche of absentee ballots, the U.S. Postal Service recently sent detailed letters to 46 states and D.C. warning that it cannot guarantee all ballots cast by mail for the November election will arrive in time to be counted — adding another layer of uncertainty ahead of the high-stakes presidential contest.

States are in a position to increase the unemployment benefit. If any state gives $100 in benefits, the federal government will provide $300 in benefits. The Labor department has put out a circular saying they will help the states in any way possible.
