House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is calling the House back into session this Saturday to take up legislation designed to reverse changes made by new Postmaster General Louis DeJoy.
Pelosi said she will call back the House from recess to take up the “Delivering for America Act,” which would restore Postal Service operations to where they were on Jan. 1.
HOUSE & STIMULUS UPDATE | PRESIDENT: AMAZON TREATS USPS AS ‘STUPID PEOPLE’, COSTS TAXPAYER A FORTUNE
Amazon, they build the big plant always near a post office, and then they take a lot of this mail to areas where they could never go because the postal system is massive and they drop packages into the post office by the thousands. And then when I say thousands for when some little place and they drop it but drop them and then they say here you deliver them and we lose $3 and $4 a package, on average, we lose massive amounts of money.
FIVE MYTHS about Second Stimulus Check and Unemployment Benefit extensions and THE NOVEMBER X FACTOR
1. President can do things on his own
2. The USPS has nothing to do with all this
3. Federal unemployment benefits have been extended
4. A deal can happen anytime AND lawmakers can be called back with 24 hours notice
Dr. Chhoda analyzes SIX reasons things could get really bumpy in the coming months, based on the current climate.
1 – NORMS ARE BEING BROKEN RIGHT, LEFT AND CENTER
2 – NO END TO THE GRIDLOCK RIGHT NOW
3 – THE WAR OVER UNIVERSAL MAIL-IN BALLOT IS JUST BEGINNING
Because of the gridlock, Mr. Trump took executive action to give Americans more unemployment relief and suspend the collection of payroll taxes. Corry Bliss, who is advising several Republicans on campaigns, called it a “smart move” because it gives GOP candidates something clear to point to and allows them to blame Democrats for not coming to the table.
The F-35 fighter aircraft program costs more than breaking this gridlock and providing relief to the entire American economy.
Furthermore, after accounting for inflation, bondholders will likely be paying the U.S. government for the honor of lending it money.”
Anticipating an avalanche of absentee ballots, the U.S. Postal Service recently sent detailed letters to 46 states and D.C. warning that it cannot guarantee all ballots cast by mail for the November election will arrive in time to be counted — adding another layer of uncertainty ahead of the high-stakes presidential contest.
THE HIDDEN LINK BETWEEN STIMULUS NEGOTIATIONS & STATE FUNDING | THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM NO ONE SEES
President Trump and top Republicans, including Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the majority leader, say that providing more money to states could simply bail out fiscally irresponsible governments that did not manage their budgets and their public pension plans prudently in good times.
President Trump said today that he had directed the Treasury Department to prepare a second round of stimulus checks for American families, but he blamed Democrats for holding up the direct payments.
“I have directed @stevenmnuchin1 to get ready to send direct payments ($3,400 for family of four) to all Americans,” Trump wrote. “DEMOCRATS ARE HOLDING THIS UP!”

CAN PRESIDENT BYPASS CONGRESS & PROVIDE STIMULUS CHECKS & FEDERAL UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS | THE ANSWER
The only road runs through Congress. We analyze:
1 – The underlying significance of the President’s Executive Orders
2 – Why the second stimulus check and federal unemployment benefit extensions require an act of Congress (and a little bit of history)
We would love to extend the PPP, put additional money in for safe and secure school opening. President is still open to direct mailing of checks of $1200/person.
States are in a position to increase the unemployment benefit. If any state gives $100 in benefits, the federal government will provide $300 in benefits. The Labor department has put out a circular saying they will help the states in any way possible.
